“For me, California was not so much a destiny, but fate – and what I do with that is up to me. Some people move here for the weather, but like Allan Jones and David Hockney, (UK painters,) I just love it when it rains! Additionally, I do try to live a healthier life and consequently walk frequently in the Torrey Pines National Park on the coast. This has prompted me to embark on my California-inspired project of Flower Fairies of the California Chaparral. I am designing fairies in dresses representing each flower and my sister, Beverly Haydon, is writing the poems.”
